This workshop will show how to design, set-up and light a still life. Tom will demonstrate primary concerns and refinements, as well as lesser concerns like “how to make a still life more provocative, less factual and more personal.” Students may paint in any medium they choose.
Tom Nicholas, NA, AWS was a scholarship student in the 1950’s at the School of Visual Arts, New York City. In 1961 he received an invitational Greenshield Grant for two years of painting abroad and in the U.S.A. Tom is an Academician of the National Academy of Design and a Dolphin Fellow of the American Watercolor Society. Since 1960 Tom has painted throughout Europe and the United States and has had 36 one-artist shows New York City, Washington, Boston, California, Florida, Texas and Maine. Forty-five Medals of Honor are included among the many awards that Tom has received. His work is in many private and public collections throughout the country and he has 80 images in the archives of the Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of American Art, Washington, D.C.
All levels welcome. A list of suggested materials will be provided in advance.

Cancellation policy: Up to 7 days prior – any payment minus $50. Tuition will not be refunded after this 7 day period. This policy is strictly enforced.
