Registration Deadline: June 8.
This plein air workshop focuses on looking at Edward Hopper street landscapes and buildings. We will look at actual houses and streets that he painted on Cape Ann, as well as architecture that lends itself to this type of “Hopperesque” style and then work to create our own paintings. Topics will include: drawing architecture in correct perspective, determining composition, and techniques of painting “realism” while maintaining the looseness and charm that Hopper used. We will paint outdoors and work from photos if weather does not permit to go outside.
All levels welcome. A list of suggested materials will be provided in advance.
Registration Deadlines: Participants must register by the listed deadline – one week prior to the workshop.
Cancellation policy: Up to 7 days prior – any payment minus $50. Tuition will not be refunded after this 7 day period. This policy is strictly enforced.
To register, you may pay: online (see below); by phone 978.546.6604 with a credit card; or by mail with a check made payable to Rockport Art Association & Museum, 12 Main Street, Rockport, MA (please put the name of the workshop in the Memo).
