The Art of Collecting: Variations on a Theme (American Painters 1850-2000)

Opening Reception: Saturday, October 22nd, 2 – 4 PM

This blockbuster exhibition of historical art includes some of the best known names in plein air painting such as Aldro Hibbard, Emile Gruppé, and W. Lester Stevens and some lesser known, such as Junius Allen, Henry Golden Dearth, and Mary Rosamond Coolidge. This exhibition of more than 70 works is drawn entirely from the private collections of some of the most notable art collectors and will offer the opportunity to see what collectors look for when purchasing a work for their collection. All of the works in the show are for sale during the run of the exhibition. Other artists represented in the show include Antonio Cirino, C.E.L. Green, Joaquin Sorolla, Anthony Thieme, Harry A. Vincent and many more.
