Inspired by the great outdoors, my work depicts coastal Maine and the conservation land, beaches, farmland and marshes of the North Shore of Massachusetts. I attempt to convey nature’s incantations: wind whispering through bows of spruce, waves lapping against the shore, the rumble of thunder. I examine the spectrum of nature from the graceful dance of field grass to the fury of ocean surf. Sometimes a distant sail or weathered fence post acts as a reminder of humanity. I offer the viewer a meditative space to contemplate the grandeur of nature and reinforce the notion that even the most tranquil moments have significance.
