ANNE DEMETER is a painter of people. She works in transparent and opaque watercolor as well as acrylic and oil paint. Many of her works have been chosen for Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s Card Program. These works depict the character of Boston from the North End’s Roma Band to the benches of the Public Gardens. Anne is best known though for her portrayal of children, often surrounded by opalescent light and the colorful reflections within New England beaches or inner city fountains.
Anne has taught in Danvers for the past 18 years, and is a founding member of the Saltbox Gallery in Topsfield. She has won numerous awards and is an artist member of both Rockport Art Association and North Shore Arts Association (where she is a former president).
