BARBARA LUSSIER – Light, atmosphere and a sense of poetry define Barbara Lussier’s wilderness paintings. Her landscapes are sensual images; they are color, they are form; indeed, they are also abstractions. She explores in her paintings the romance of color and light. From the abstractions of imagery, she finds that place from which the sublime emerges, the place from which our aesthetic sense is born. Lussier haunts wild places that allow her to explore and express her love for an old growth tree, the New England rocky coastline, or the frozen bog permitting entrance only in the coldest winter.
