Deborah Citron-Stevens

DEBORAH CITRON-STEVENS – Whether it’s the exciting transformation of one her drawings into a print, her vibrant color palette that invites a viewer into her paintings, or the lively animation and humor she brings to pieces of rusted metal which she assembles into funky garden sculptures– visual drama is a hallmark of her work.

From her private studio in Essex, Massachusetts, Deborah divides her creative energies among the media she loves – printmaking, pastels, painting and metal sculpture. She finds her artistic inspiration in bold shapes of color like shadows that drape across the road at dusk or striking color combinations like coral against blue and yellow skies. Her strong drawing skills and color sense are notable qualities of her art.

Besides being a member of the Rockport Art Association, she is also a member of the North Shore and Newburyport Art Associations, the Ipswich Arts Cooperative and the Monotype Guild. She shares her love of art as a very active and enthusiastic teacher with private and group classes in printmaking, pastel and other media.
