DIANE AESCHLIMAN’S life-long interest in painting began when she was a child living in Europe and developed professionally when she studied at Rhode Island School of Design. Her skill was further refined while on the faculty of the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts where she taught drawing and painting for fourteen years.
Her classical approach emphasizes draftsmanship and clear, vibrant color. Working from life as much as possible, Diane believes personal observation and interaction between artist and subject are critical to good painting.
She is a member of New England Plein Air Painters, the CT Society of Portrait Artists, Rockport Art Association, and recently served on the Board of the Lyme Art Association.
