EVA CINCOTTA“I love the idea of painting ordinary subject matter that I am familiar with and transforming and elevating it into colorful images. Rather than present the world as it appears, I find myself involved in looking for unusual positions to ‘view’ familiar subjects or oddly contradicting scenes like crooked streets and leaning buildings. There is a certain satisfaction with combining this tension of space, balance and subject matter into the appropriate format. My urge is to present the world that is more desirable and transport one to a past place, a manmade place that has survived to the present.”
