Although I’ve worked with oils in a realistic manner in the past, for several years I have been interested in exploring my family’s Native American heritage. My influences come from many sources: realism, impressionism and modernism, as well as historical and contemporary indigenous arts. The highlights of my art studies have come from visits to museums in Paris, Munich and Saltzburg in addition to Native American museums in South Dakota, New Mexico and the new NMAI in Washington, DC.
