JUDITH MONTEFERRANTE was born in Queens, New York to parents who loved the arts, and spent many hours in Greenwich Village and the museums and parks in New York City.
Summers I explored Long Island and its surrounding waters, increasing my appreciation for the sky, flowers and sea. Although arts & crafts were encouraged, a career in the uncertain world of art was not. Instead, I chose to develop my other passion of helping people in need by pursuing a career in medicine.
Now in my 50’s, I have rekindled my interest in art and photography with an enlightened vision. My skills at imaging the heart are transferred to studying nature’s intimate places. Flowers, nature, the sea and its coastline with suppressed violence intrigue me. My husband Dr. Roger Salisbury and I share this mixed world of medicine and art – the stuff dreams are made of.
