MARLENE EVANS PUTNAM is a native of Hartford, CT. She spent many years in the Boston, Cape Ann and Hanover, NH areas before moving to Florida with her husband Harold – also a professional artist member of the Rockport Art Association.
She studied for seven years at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and later privately with Roger W. Curtis for seascapes and Everett Raymond Kinstler for portraits. Her seascape paintings are in the permanent collections of three Florida museums and the MBNA Corporation. Her portaits hang at Dartmouth College, Harvard Law School, the University of Maine and the Florida Supreme Court. She is currently completing a portrait of Metropolitan opera star Deborah Voigt.
