Ron Straka

Straka-art

RON STRAKA graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Painting since his early teens, he continued to paint in parallel with his science career. Challenged by plein-air painting, Ron travels extensively interpreting the beauty of nature through his art. His work is shown throughout the country and abroad, and has been displayed at the American Embassy residence in Bratislava, Slovak Republic.

A gifted art teacher of students at all levels, Ron himself studied with many eminent Cape Ann artists. He considers himself most fortunate to have had Paul Strisik as mentor and friend. Ron is also an accomplished photographer (studying with Ansel Adams) whose work has been included in shows at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and The DeCordova Museum, Lincoln, MA.

Artist memberships: Rockport Art Association (current president, former Board of Governors), North Shore Arts Association (former president, Honorary Member), Academic Artists Association and the International Society of Marine Painters.
