SUSAN L. WHITEHOUSE – an American impressionist, paints in the tradition of the Boston School. Emphasis on accurately rendered form, sensitivity to beautiful line and true values, and an impressionistic delight in color and light mark her work. Serene vision along with playfulness sets the tone while attention to detail and technique complete each painting.
Ms. Whitehouse carries on these traditions as she teaches in her studio in Biddeford, Maine. She emphasizes an orderly progression from cast drawing to still life, portrait and figure painting.
Memberships include Rockport Art Association, North Shore Arts Association, Academic Artists Association and the American Society of Marine Painters.
