Katalin has loved making art since childhood. In New York City she attended the High School of Music and Art and went on to earn her BFA degree at The Cooper Union in New York City, followed by a wonderful year of graduate school studying art at Villa Schifanoia in Florence, Italy, majoring in painting, earning an MA degree.

She taught Fine Arts for 31 years in public elementary schools in New York State and in Massachusetts. Bringing out the creativity of her students was a very rewarding career.

Since her retirement from teaching in 2008, she has been indulging her life-long passion to paint. In her paintings she hopes to capture on a two dimensional surface the excitement of our beautiful three dimensional world, to catch the play of light and the mood of the scene. Painting is her joy, her therapy, and her passion.

She is a juried artist member at the North Shore Arts Association in Gloucester, MA and the Rockport Art Association in Rockport MA. She is also a member of Boston North Artists, and the Newton Watercolor Society.

In May, 2023 Katalin won the Marguerite Phillips Neuhauser Schaefer Memorial Award at the North Shore Arts Association, and she has had her paintings juried into the December 2020, December, 2022 and the December 2024 RAAM National exhibits, as well as in the July, 2023, and June, 2024 NSAA Exhibit New England exhibits.
