Leigh H. Slingluff has enjoyed an art & design career spanning over 3 decades. It began in earnest when she was juried into the Graphic Design undergraduate program at The University of Georgia. Leigh studied abroad with UGA in Cortona, Italy. After graduating with honors, she spent several years working as a Designer at The Cartoon Network in Atlanta, Georgia. She exited the 9to5 world to serve as an Americorps Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio, TX and the US Peace Corps in Morocco, West Africa. Then came a husband, family, and many years adjusting to motherhood. Leigh escapes to her studio in Gloucester, MA to design & paint. Leigh finds inspiration from exploring outdoors with her dog & husband, snorkeling & swimming at local beaches, and visiting museums. She has enjoyed befriending and studying with some of Cape Ann’s finest painters, and is continually curious about the rich artistic history of Cape Ann, especially Gloucester and Rockport. She enjoys working in a variety of painting mediums – oil, acrylic, watercolor, and gouache; loves painting outdoors with friends, and is a constant observer of skies & seas, plants & animals, architecture, and folks around the town. In addition to her RAA&M Artist Membership, she is also a juried Artist Member of the North Shore Arts Association (NSAA) in Gloucester, MA and served for 4 years as an elected member of the NSAA Board of Trustees.
