Stephen Delaney

Steve had worked primarily with black and white film for many years, developing and printing all his own work. He now works exclusively with a digital format and is working to catalog and scan his film negatives.

There have been several consistent themes present in Steve’s work. The first relates to his love of transportation, particularly railroads…the people, structures, motive power, and the historical context related to the development of our country. Landscapes are also featured in his work, which are often connected to transportation. He will often return to familiar locations to capture the different moods and lighting of the various scenes.

His professional career included service in municipal management as a town administrator/town manager and human resources director. He has also served as a part time college instructor in the subject areas of history, political science, transportation, management, and municipal finance.
