I have always been fascinated with capturing the effects of light in my work.
To learn to do this effectively, it was critically important for me to understand color theory in addition to direct observation and painting from life.
In my demonstration, I am going to illustrate how my knowledge of color has enabled me to create luminous effects in my paintings. I will discuss my color palette, my technique in layering paint and glazes, as well as color combinations I use in order to achieve this. I will also illustrate how my brunaille underpainting helps contribute to the luminosity in my work.
