Have you always been interested in pen drawing, but found the permanence of the ink daunting? We’ll explore approaches for getting comfortable with pens and the wide range of different techniques for building up marks to capture volume and depth, looking at a wide range of examples for inspiration. There will be plenty of time for drawing, discussion and individualized feedback.
All skill levels are welcome. The group will be limited to 12 participants. Erica will send you an invite with the Zoom link before the meeting.
Supplies:
(1) 9 x 12 or so multi-use or smooth surface sketchbook or loose paper
Any fine tip pen - felt tip, rollerball or ballpoint; Micron, Copic Pilot, etc. are all good - as opposed to big markers which are more for color drawing. The focus will be on monochromatic line drawing and shading, so black or another dark color are all good. (If you’d really like to add color, though, feel free)
2 drawing pencils of different hardnesses (HB and 2B)
1 grey kneaded eraser
1 white plastic eraser
Pencil sharpener
