Lines are incredibly potent visual tools, but they often do not get the attention they deserve. In this two-hour online workshop, we will explore some of the many ways lines can carry information, describing and/or suggesting everything from edges to shapes to movement and emotion. We will look at a range of examples for inspiration, do some guided exercises for improving and diversifying your own lines, and have discussion/Q&A. There will also be plenty of time for drawing and individualized feedback. A PDF handout with exercises will be provided during the workshop.

All skill levels are welcome. The group will be limited to 12 participants. Erica will send you an invite with the Zoom link before the meeting.

Supplies:
• a multipurpose sketchbook or drawing paper (preferably 9 x 12 in. or larger)
• drawing pencils of different hardness (one HB and a 2B or softer)
• pencil sharpener
• 1 gray kneaded eraser
• 1 white plastic eraser
