Understanding contour and the use of contour lines is a key to capturing an object’s volumetric form and the subtle dips and rises on a surface. In this workshop, we will explore the use of contour, cross-contour, and overlap lines to increase the illusion of depth, volume, and texture for all kinds of subjects. In addition to a presentation with examples and techniques, we will have plenty of time for drawing and individualized feedback. A PDF handout with exercises will be provided at the end of the workshop.
All skill levels are welcome. The group will be limited to 12 participants. Erica will send you an invite with the Zoom link before the meeting.
